Plans and billing
Every SparkLayer plan from Starter to Enterprise works with Wix. See Plans and features and the SparkLayer pricing page (opens in a new tab).
Billing is managed through your Wix account and charged monthly, or annually if you choose that option.
Wix setup
SparkLayer works with Wix Editor and Wix Studio sites. You need an active Wix store.
Yes. You can install SparkLayer on your existing retail Wix store and run both from it. We call this a hybrid setup. When B2B customers sign in, they see the SparkLayer frontend interfaces with their prices and ordering options. Try it on our B2B and retail demo store (opens in a new tab).
Store setup
Yes, free of charge. To ask our team, click Request installation at Storefront,Widgets (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) in the SparkLayer Dashboard. We can usually do this within 1–2 working days. We then offer an onboarding session to walk you through how everything works. See Request free installation.
Yes, SparkLayer works with all Wix themes. Once you've installed the app, our team completes the storefront install for you after you invite us as a collaborator.
The SparkLayer widgets (B2B pricing, the cart and the My Account area) only load when a customer in a B2B customer group signs in. Everyone else sees your store as it is today, so you control exactly who sees B2B prices and can place B2B orders.
Yes. SparkLayer can run alongside it, so you can try SparkLayer first and uninstall the other app when you're ready. If the other app changed your store's code, you can ask its developer to remove those changes, but you don't have to.
Payments and currencies
Yes, when they choose Pay Online by Card at the SparkLayer checkout. They're then taken to the Wix checkout, which shows every payment method you've set up in Wix (such as PayPal or Affirm). Any payment method Wix supports can be used this way.
Only partly. A Wix store can only accept one currency (opens in a new tab), such as GBP. If you create price lists in other currencies at Pricing,Price lists (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab):
- Signed-in B2B customers see prices in their price list's currency, at the exchange rate at that time.
- If they order in a currency other than your store's default, the order is created with the same amounts but in your default currency. For example, a checkout total of €227.46 appears in Wix as £227.46.
Products
A few options work well together:
- Create a B2B-only page or collection and send customers to it when they sign in. In the Wix editor, open the page's settings and, under Permissions, choose Site members and then Specific members. Turn on Members with roles and choose a member role, such as
B2B Customers. See Wix's guide to creating restricted store pages (opens in a new tab). - Create B2B-only products as separate products in Wix, each with its own SKU.
- Leave products out of your price lists. If a SKU has no B2B price, B2B customers can't buy it.
Hide your retail prices in Wix, so prices only appear once a B2B customer signs in. This is one way to make your Wix store B2B-only. See Wix's guide to hiding product prices (opens in a new tab).
Yes. An automatic price list can use your Wix prices (such as your retail price) and apply a discount, for example 20% off. It can also allow for your Wix tax setup, whether your prices include or exclude tax. See Managing pricing.
Turn on Pre-order for the product in Wix; see Pre-orders and pre-order limits. SparkLayer then shows a pre-order message to B2B customers. Stock display explains the stock messages and how to show "due in" dates.
Yes. SparkLayer matches B2B prices to products by SKU, so a product without a unique SKU can't show B2B prices. You can add SKUs to products one at a time, or in bulk with Wix's product import or bulk edit. See Add SKUs to your products.
SparkLayer can show stock levels and a stock status to signed-in B2B customers. See Stock display.
Not on one store. When retail and B2B run from the same Wix store, they share the same stock, and Wix has no way to stop retail customers ordering from it. To separate stock, either create B2B-only products, or set up a separate Wix store for your B2B customers.
Customer experience
You can add extra fields to your existing sign-up page, or create a separate registration page for B2B customers using Wix Forms (opens in a new tab). To review applications yourself, add approved customers manually in Customers & Leads,Contacts. SparkLayer also has its own Forms.
You can use Wix's own messaging:
- One customer: open the contact in Customers & Leads,Contacts, go to the Inbox tab and send them a message, for example telling them to sign in to your store.
- Several customers: in Customers & Leads,Contacts, search or filter your contacts, select them and click Send Email Campaign.
The Launch checklist has example messages.
No. SparkLayer only loads when a B2B customer signs in; for retail customers, no SparkLayer code loads at all. For B2B customers, the widgets load asynchronously, so the effect on page load times is negligible.
We recommend talking to a Wix expert developer before making changes to your site.
Orders
In Sales,Orders. The payment status depends on how the customer paid:
| Payment method | Payment status in Wix |
|---|---|
| Pay on Account | Unpaid. Mark the order as paid once you've received payment. |
| Pay by Invoice | Unpaid. Mark the order as paid once you've received payment. |
| Pay Online by Card | Paid, ready to fulfil. |
| Request for Quote | Unpaid. Mark the order as paid once you've received payment. |
In customer groups, Pay Online by Card is called Card at checkout. See How B2B orders arrive in Wix.
Awaiting merchant is the status a customer sees in their My Account area for an order you haven't confirmed payment for yet. For example, you might still need to send an invoice.
To move it on, go to Sales,Orders, select the order and choose More Actions > Mark as paid. The status changes from Awaiting merchant to Processing, and you can fulfil the order as normal.
Yes, as long as payment hasn't been processed. Open the order in Sales,Orders, click More Actions and choose Edit order.
SparkLayer doesn't send invoices itself, but Wix can. Open the order in Sales,Orders, click More Actions and choose Create Invoice. You collect payment your usual way, then mark the order as paid in Wix and fulfil it.
Set order limits for each customer group in Customers,Groups (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab): a minimum or maximum order total, or a minimum or maximum number of items. See Set order limits.
In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings,Outgoing Notifications.
