How SparkLayer works on Magento

Your developer installs the SparkLayer Magento module, which your SparkLayer account manager gives you access to. You then create an integration that connects your store to SparkLayer. SparkLayer syncs your products and B2B customers, and creates a Magento customer group for each SparkLayer customer group.

On Luma-based themes, you switch the widgets on in the module's settings. On other themes, a developer adds them. You keep your theme, and can run retail and B2B from the same store.

You manage B2B prices and ordering rules in the SparkLayer Dashboard. Products, customers and orders stay in Magento.

Limitations

The main differences from other platforms:

  • You need the SparkLayer Enterprise plan.
  • Magento's Multi-Source Inventory (MSI) module must be turned on.
  • Every product needs a unique SKU, and price lists can only be managed in SparkLayer.

See Magento limitations for the full list, and Compare platforms to check a feature across platforms.

Try the Magento demo store

See SparkLayer on a working Magento store that sells to both retail and B2B customers, at demo.magento.sparklayer.io (opens in a new tab). Go to the demo store's sign-in page (opens in a new tab) and sign in with these details. They work for both a sales agent and a regular B2B customer:
