Managing integrations
The Integrations pages
Each page covers one kind of connection:
| Page | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Integrations,Platform (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) | Links SparkLayer to your eCommerce platform, so products and B2B customers sync automatically. It also holds Shopify order actions and Metafields. |
| Integrations,Partners (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) | Connects apps such as ERPs, accounting software and shipping tools. See Integrations for the full list. |
| Integrations,Product sync (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) | Shows whether your products are reaching SparkLayer, and lets you look one up. See Product sync. |
The storefront widgets are installed from Storefront,Widgets (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab), not from Integrations. See Storefront interfaces.
Check your platform connection
Integrations,Platform (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) shows which store you're connected to, for example "Connected to Shopify: your-store.myshopify.com". When you change anything on this page, click Save in the save bar.
Integrations > Platform
Walk through a working copy of Integrations > Platform, step by step. Nothing you do here changes your store.
In the SparkLayer Dashboard, Your platform shows the platform you use and its store. In the Shopify app there's no platform choice: it's always Shopify.
| Platform | Supported versions |
|---|---|
| Shopify | All versions, including Shopify Plus. |
| BigCommerce | BigCommerce Plus, Pro and Enterprise. |
| Wix | Wix Editor and Wix Studio. |
| WooCommerce (early access) | WooCommerce 9+, WordPress 6+, PHP 8.2+. |
| Magento | Magento 2.4.2+, PHP 7.4+. |
| Other | Build your own integration with the SparkLayer API. See Building integrations, or contact us. |
Shopify only
To connect SparkLayer to a different Shopify store, change the Shopify store. Shopify then asks you to authorise the app again.
On every platform, you enter your store's connection details at Integrations,Platform (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab). For full setup on each platform, see Platforms.
Set Shopify order actions
Shopify only
Orders paid with a manual method, such as Pay by Invoice, arrive in the Shopify admin as draft orders. Order actions turn them into completed orders for you, and control Shopify's customer invite email. They're only available on Shopify.
- Go to Integrations,Platform,Shopify order actions (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab).
- Turn on the switches you want.
- Click Save.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Auto-complete draft orders | Turns draft orders from manual payments into completed orders automatically, so they appear in Orders in the Shopify admin instead of Drafts. | On |
| Don't send Shopify's customer invite | When a sales admin creates a customer in Shopify, skips Shopify's account invite email. See Order for a customer. | Off |
In the SparkLayer Dashboard, you'll also see 2 switches marked SparkLayer staff only: Create a draft order on calculate and Draft orders with price overrides. Only our team can change them. If you need line-item tax or use a shipping app that needs draft orders, contact support.
Set up metafields
Shopify only
On Shopify, SparkLayer can create the metafields it uses for you, so you don't have to set them up by hand in the Shopify admin. Metafields are extra fields on your Shopify products and customers, such as a product's pack size, that SparkLayer reads.
- Go to Integrations,Platform,Metafields (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab).
- Next to SparkLayer metafields, click Configure.
- Turn on each metafield you want.
The metafields available for Product and Customer data include:
| Metafield | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Pack Size | Pack size rules for products, for example 6, 12, 18. |
| Reserved DTC Stock Quantity | A stock quantity to keep back for your retail (DTC) customers. |
| Restock Date | The date a product on pre-order is expected to be available. |
| Stock Location Settings | B2B stock settings, such as a minimum stock level and restock date, for specific stock locations. |
Each metafield you turn on is added to Settings,Custom data (opens in your Shopify admin in a new tab) in the Shopify admin and pinned, so it shows at the top of a product's or customer's metafields. Its name starts with B2B - , for example B2B - Pack Size. To change or remove a metafield later, use Custom data in the Shopify admin.
Connect or disconnect a partner app
Integrations,Partners (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab) lists the apps SparkLayer works with, grouped by type: Multi-channel management, Accountancy, Invoicing and Shipping. Each app's guide lists what you need before you start. See Integrations.
- Go to Integrations,Partners (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab).
- Turn on the switch next to the app.
- Sign in to the app to authorise the connection, or enter the details it asks for, such as an API key.
A connected app shows Connected. To disconnect it, turn the switch off. Click Learn more next to an app for its guide.
Partner apps can't be switched on inside Shopify. Each app has a Setup guide button that opens its guide in these docs. Follow the guide in the SparkLayer Dashboard (opens in a new tab).
Xero and QuickBooks need the Pro plan. Below Pro, they show Pro and an Unlock button instead of a switch: see Unlock a feature.
To change an app's settings after you connect it, open it at Integrations,Partners (opens in your SparkLayer Dashboard in a new tab). Its guide covers each setting.
If you need a hand with any of this, contact support.
