Backend
The SparkLayer Backend is essentially the mechanism whereby SparkLayer connects your B2B data behind the scenes. If you're using the SparkLayer API, you can connect your backend systems and automatically send your B2B data to SparkLayer. Alternatively, you can use the manual import tools within the Dashboard to configure your B2B data.
If we look at your current system architecture, it's likely that your eCommerce platform will be doing the following:
- Talking directly to your backend systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, or iPaaS) to synchronise key data such as product information, customer data, order details
- Providing the interface (i.e. a storefront) for retail customers to browse and place orders from
SparkLayer sits outside of this, with the SparkLayer Backend connecting to B2B-specific data, and the SparkLayer Frontend rendering wholesale-specific frontend features.
