# Sales rep ordering

How sales reps order on behalf of B2B customers: switch to a customer, build the order at their prices, then check out or raise a quote for them.

This section is for sales reps taking an order for a customer. It covers how ordering works and what reps can do for a customer.

## How it works

Sales agent ordering, sometimes called order masquerading, brings your sales team's orders into your online store. A sales agent is a customer account in your store with a sales agent role.

When they sign in, they choose a customer and act as that customer from then on. They see the customer's prices and payment methods, and the order is placed against the customer's account, not their own.

How a sales rep places an order:

1. **Sign in**: The rep signs in to your store with their own account
2. **Choose a customer**: They pick a B2B customer from their open orders or a search
3. **Build the order**: They add products at the customer's prices
4. **Check out or quote**: The order or quote is placed for the customer

## Where reps work

Everything happens inside your storefront's SparkLayer widget, at the customer's prices.

## What sales reps can do

Once they've chosen a customer, a sales agent can:

| Action | Details |
| --- | --- |
| **View products** | See products at the B2B prices assigned to the customer. |
| **Place an order** | Check out with the customer's payment methods, or submit a quote. |
| **Shopping lists** | Save, edit and load the customer's [shopping lists](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/ordering/shopping-lists.md). |
| **Address book** | Add and edit the customer's addresses, if the customer's group allows address editing. |
| **Re-order** | Re-order from an existing order in the customer's account. |
| **Persistent cart** | Products added to an order stay in the customer's cart until they check out or change it, so the rep can come back to it later. |
| **Company users** | Invite and manage the customer's [company users](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/customers/company-users.md). |
