# Shopify Sidekick

Ask Shopify Sidekick about your SparkLayer price lists and customer groups from any page in Shopify admin. Nothing to set up; changes stay in Ask Sparkie.

## Ask Sidekick about SparkLayer

1. In Shopify admin, open Sidekick. You can do this from any page.
2. Ask your question, and include "SparkLayer" so Sidekick knows where to look. For example: "Which SparkLayer price list does my Retailers customer group use?"

Sidekick reads your SparkLayer setup and answers. It works on both your live and test stores.

### Questions to try

- Which price list a group uses: Which SparkLayer price list does my Retailers customer group use?
- Who uses a price list: Which customer groups use my SparkLayer "Trade 20%" price list?
- Minimum orders: What's the minimum order for each of my SparkLayer customer groups?
- How much off retail: How much off retail is my SparkLayer "Trade 20%" price list?

Use the exact names of your price lists and customer groups.

## Start from the SparkLayer app

The SparkLayer Wholesale app suggests questions for Sidekick in a few places:

- **Works in Shopify Sidekick** under the box at the top of **Home** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale** in the Shopify app.
- **Ask Shopify Sidekick questions anywhere in admin**
   on the start screen of 
  **Ask SparkLayer** in the SparkLayer Dashboard, or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Ask SparkLayer** in the Shopify app
  .
- A **Tip** line on **Pricing > Price lists** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/pricing/lists)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Pricing > Price lists** in the Shopify app and **Customers > Groups** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/customers/groups)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Customers > Customer groups** in the Shopify app, such as "ask Sidekick "Which customer groups use Trade 20%?" from any page in Shopify admin".

From Home or Ask Sparkie, the link opens **Ask about SparkLayer in Shopify Sidekick**, with 3 questions built from your own price lists and customer groups. Click **Ask** next to one to take it to Sidekick, or **Make a change in Ask Sparkie** to go to the chat.

If Sidekick doesn't open with the question, it's copied for you. Open Sidekick and paste it.

Use Sidekick for a quick answer while you work elsewhere in Shopify admin. Use Ask Sparkie when you want to change something, such as creating a price list or setting a group's minimum order.

## FAQs

**Can Sidekick change my prices?**

No. Sidekick can only read your SparkLayer setup. To change prices, use **Pricing > Price lists** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/pricing/lists)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Pricing > Price lists** in the Shopify app or [Ask Sparkie](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/ask-sparklayer.md), where you see every change before it's saved.

**Can I turn Sidekick off for SparkLayer?**

No. Sidekick is listed under **Connected AI apps** in Ask Sparkie as **Included**, and it can't be disconnected. It's read only, so it can't change anything. See [Connected AI apps](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/ask-sparklayer/activity-and-connected-apps.md#connected-ai-apps).

**Sidekick doesn't know about SparkLayer. What should I check?**

Include "SparkLayer" in your question, and use the exact name of the price list or customer group. Sidekick answers about SparkLayer only on stores with the SparkLayer Wholesale app installed.
