## How SparkLayer works on BigCommerce

You install the [SparkLayer for BigCommerce app](https://www.bigcommerce.com/apps/sparklayer-b2b-wholesale/) from the BigCommerce Marketplace. SparkLayer then syncs your products, customers and B2B customer groups from BigCommerce.

The widgets go in your BigCommerce theme as a few code snippets. Our team adds them for you free of charge, or your developer can. You keep your theme, and can run retail and B2B from the same store.

You manage B2B prices and ordering rules in the [SparkLayer Dashboard](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/dashboard.md). Products, customers and orders stay in BigCommerce.

## Install at a glance

Setting up SparkLayer on BigCommerce:

1. **Install the app**: From the BigCommerce Marketplace
2. **Create your account**: Register with SparkLayer and start your trial in BigCommerce
3. **Group customers**: Customer groups whose name starts with B2B
4. **Add the widgets**: Code snippets in your theme, added by our team or your developer
5. **Set prices and launch**: Price lists, customer group rules and a test order

## Limitations

The main differences from other platforms:

- Every product needs a unique SKU, and SparkLayer works best with stock tracked per variant.
- BigCommerce doesn't allow negative stock, so there are no pre-orders.
- BigCommerce promotions and modifier options can't be used with SparkLayer.
