# Favourites

Let B2B customers save products with a heart icon as they browse and add them to the cart from My Account, and see how Favourites differ from shopping lists.

## How it works

Favourites let customers browsing a large catalogue mark products for later, without building an order or filling the cart. When they're ready to buy, they pick the variant and quantity and add the product to the cart.

Each customer sees only their own Favourites, which aren't shared with other users or accounts. There's nothing for you to keep up to date.

Before you start:

- **Core Script 4.9 or later** on your storefront. Check **Version for this store** at **Storefront > Widgets > Core script version** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/configuration/frontend/core)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Storefront > Widgets > Core script version** in the Shopify app.
- **Favourites lists turned on** at **Storefront > Options > My Account** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/storefront/options)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Storefront > Options > My Account** in the Shopify app (on by default).

### Favourites vs shopping lists

Favourites and [shopping lists](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/ordering/shopping-lists.md) work side by side but do different jobs.

A shopping list suits a customer who knows what to reorder. Favourites are quicker for remembering products while browsing.

## Add a product to Favourites

Customers click the heart icon (**Add to favourites**) next to **Add to cart** and the shopping list icon on a product page, or on a product card on a collection page. The heart changes to show the product is saved. Saving it again doesn't create a duplicate.

## View Favourites in My Account

The My Account overview shows the most recently saved products in **Favourites**, above the shopping lists. Hovering over a product shows its name, and **View all** opens the Favourites page.

The Favourites page lists every saved product with its image, name and SKU, with the total in the heading. If nothing's saved yet, it explains how to use the heart icon.

## Add favourites to the cart

1. On the Favourites page, click **Select & add to cart**.
2. Select one or more products.
3. For each product, click **Choose options** to pick the variant and set the quantity. Current pricing and stock are shown for each option.
4. Add the selected products to the cart.

The products stay in Favourites. The usual availability and quantity rules apply, and if a product can't be added, such as when it's no longer available, a message explains why.

## Remove a favourite

On the Favourites page, customers click the remove icon next to a product. It's removed straight away, without changing the product or any shopping lists.

## Turn Favourites off

1. Go to **Storefront > Options** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/storefront/options)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Storefront > Options** in the Shopify app and open **My Account**.
2. Turn off **Favourites lists**.
3. Click **Save and publish**.

The heart icon disappears from product and collection pages, and Favourites disappears from My Account. Turn it back on in the same place at any time.

## FAQs

**What's the difference between Favourites and shopping lists?**

Favourites save only the product, to come back to later. Shopping lists save products with variants and quantities, for building and reordering a specific order. Both are in My Account. See [Favourites vs shopping lists](#favourites-vs-shopping-lists).

**Can a customer save a specific variant or quantity as a favourite?**

No. Customers choose the variant and quantity when adding a favourite to the cart, so they always see current options, pricing and stock.

**Can customers favourite products from collection pages?**

Yes. The heart icon is on collection page product cards as well as product pages.

**Are Favourites shared with other users or accounts?**

No. Favourites are personal to each signed-in customer.

**Does adding a favourite to the cart remove it from Favourites?**

No. Products stay in Favourites after they're added to the cart.

**What happens if a favourited product is no longer available?**

It stays in Favourites but can't be added to the cart. A message explains this, and the customer can remove it.

**Does removing a favourite affect shopping lists?**

No. It only affects that customer's Favourites.

**The heart icon doesn't appear on my store**

Check the requirements in [Before you start](#how-it-works): Core Script 4.9 or later, and **Favourites lists** turned on at **Storefront > Options > My Account** in the SparkLayer Dashboard ([open](https://app.sparklayer.io/storefront/options)), or **SparkLayer Wholesale > Storefront > Options > My Account** in the Shopify app.
