# Find your way around SparkLayer

A tour of the SparkLayer Dashboard and the SparkLayer Wholesale app in Shopify: the menus in each, what Home shows, and where older screens moved to.

> - SparkLayer comes in 2 versions with the same screens. The **SparkLayer Dashboard** at [app.sparklayer.io](https://app.sparklayer.io/) has a grouped sidebar. The **Shopify app**, **SparkLayer Wholesale** under **Sales channels** in your Shopify admin, has one menu item per area, with that area's pages as tabs.

## Two versions of the same app

Manage SparkLayer in whichever version suits you. Both have the same screens and work on the same SparkLayer account.

- **SparkLayer Dashboard**: sign in at [app.sparklayer.io](https://app.sparklayer.io/). Areas are groups in the sidebar, and each page has its own menu item.
- **Shopify app**: in your Shopify admin, open **SparkLayer Wholesale** under **Sales channels**. Each area is one menu item, and its pages are tabs under the page title.

These docs show the path for the version you pick with **Steps for**, under the page title. Your choice is remembered on every page.

**Small differences between the two versions**

- **Setup** and **Try it out** have no sidebar item in the SparkLayer Dashboard. Open Setup from Home (**Open Setup**), and Try it out from Orders before your first order (**Place a test order**).
- The Dashboard calls customer groups **Groups** in the sidebar. The Shopify app's tab says **Customer groups**.
- Page titles differ on areas with tabs. In the Dashboard the title is the page, such as **Configurations**. In the Shopify app it's the area, such as **Settings**, with the page as a tab.
- Only the Dashboard has a switcher at the top of the sidebar, to change between your SparkLayer accounts and stores. See [Create a new team](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/dashboard/account.md#create-a-new-team).

## Home

### This week's numbers

The strip at the top shows the last 7 days. Each figure shows its change from the 7 days before:

| Figure | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Wholesale sales** | The total of your B2B orders. |
| **Orders** | How many B2B orders were placed. |
| **Average order** | The average value of a B2B order. |
| **Active buyers** | How many buyers placed an order. |

Click the strip to open **Wholesale sales**, with a chart and filters for the last 7, 30 or 90 days. From there, click **View all orders** to go to [Orders](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/dashboard/orders.md).

Beside the strip, **Sales agents** shows how many of your plan's agents you use.

Before your first order, the strip says **No orders yet**.

### The cards below

Cards appear when they're useful. You can minimise most of them and dismiss some, and they stay that way when you come back.

| **Get your first wholesale order** | Before your first order. | Shows your setup progress and the next step, with **Open Setup**. See [Get started](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/get-started.md). |
| **Your first wholesale order is in** | Once, when your first order arrives. | Shows the order, with **View the order**. |
| **Get live with SparkLayer** | After your first order, until every setup step is done. | The same steps as Setup. |
| **Your SparkLayer briefing** | After your first order. | Up to 3 things to review, each with a button to fix it. For example, an order waiting for you, a customer group with no price list or customers that didn't sync. On paid plans, it also shows this month's B2B sales and the time SparkLayer saved you. |

## Your plan

Your plan and this month's usage are always one click away.

- **SparkLayer Dashboard**: the plan card at the foot of the sidebar shows your plan, a badge such as **Active** or **Nearly full**, and meters for **B2B orders this month**, **Price lists** and **Sales agents**.
- **Shopify app**: **Plan** in the menu opens the plans window.

## Staff

**Staff** in the SparkLayer Dashboard is only for SparkLayer's own team, and merchants don't see it. We use it for billing and support tasks on your account, such as extending a trial or re-running your customer sync. To manage your own team, see [Invite team members](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/dashboard/account.md#invite-team-members). 

## Live data and test mode

The Dashboard works on your live store, and the SparkLayer Dashboard's top bar shows a **Live Data** pill. On the Pro and Enterprise plans, the **Test mode** switch moves the Dashboard to your test store instead: see [Test mode](https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/dashboard/test-mode.md).
